Brady Turns 1

On Saturday, Dec.5, 2009, Brady turned 1. It's hard to believe he's growing up so fast. He had a Backyardigan's party, just like his big brother!
As you can see, he loved the cake!

Brady's Almost 4 months

Wow, time flies!!! It's hard to believe Brady's almost 4 months old. At first we didn't know if we were going to be able to handle 2 boys without a constant catastrophe... and we're still not sure. We can say that we are still getting up every day, going to work (almost every day), and trying to keep our heads on straight. But looking at those little faces every morning, and having Brooks say, "Get up Mommy. I want juice," definitely keeps us going.

Our 1st Christmas with Brady

Having Brady was that best Christmas gift that our family could ask for. Brooks didn't know what the heck was going on (as you can see in the Christmas card). He just knew that for the first time, he wasn't getting our undivided attention. It wasn't just hard on Brooks. Jason and I sort of found ourselves feeling guilty, because until now, Brooks hadn't had to share us with anybody (except for Abby). So we were all trying to adjust and wondering if we were ever going to figure out how to make it out the door with 2 kids in less than 3 hours prep time...slowly but surely, it started to come together...

Brooks meets his little brother

We couldn't wait to see the look on Brooks' face when he saw Brady for the first time. I had thought about what he would say or think of this little thing I was holding. It was built up in my head as being this huge "moment." I forgot he was 2!! He was more excited to see Poppy, who had just arrived to the hospital almost exactly when Brady was born. I think my mom had a little hand on that. Don said he thought he would come into my hospital room before going to the waiting room, not expecting Brady to already be here...little did he know. A few minutes earlier, and he would've seen more than he bargained for...

Brady Arrives

On Dec. 5, 2008, Brady Ross Gresehover was born at 12:48pm. He weighed 7.1lbs and was 19.5 in. long. Everything happened so fast! I was induced that Friday morning around 7:30. The nurse said he could be born around 12, but closer to 5pm was much more likely. About 12:30, I suddenly felt an extreme amount of pressure and the urge to push. My sister, Lauren was in the room with me. Jason had gone down to the car. I told Lauren that I was feeling pressure and asked her to have the nurse come check me. At 11am I have been about 5cm, so we felt like it would be several more hours before any "action" began. Boy were we wrong!!! When the nurse checked, she said I was at 10cm and started calling for my doctor, the "baby" nurse, and then the show began. As I said, it was 12:30 when I asked Lauren to get the nurse. By 12:48 and 3 or 4 pushes, Brady had arrived. We couldn't believe it! This was so different from my labor with Brooks. With Brooks I pushed for 31/2 hours (yes, you read that right) and he weighed 8.11lbs. When I saw Brady for the first time, words cannot express what I felt. He was perfect, had all his fingers and toes, and my family was complete. Jason, Lauren, and I couldn't stop crying. It all happened so fast, and was so incredible.

Brady Ross Gresehover

On April 1, 2008 we found out that Brooks was going to have a little brother or sister. We know now that he will have a little brother, Brady Ross, who is due to make his arrival on Dec. 12. We are so excited to see him, but are especially looking forward to Brooks seeing him for the first time.

2 years and counting...

Boy does time fly!!! It's hard to believe that on Aug. 2, 2008 Brooks turned 2. We had to have him a Thomas the Train party, due to his obsession with "Thomas and Friends." I can't wait until this phase is over, which you'll understand if you know anything about the 'Thomas' tv show....boring is not even the word. He had a great time, and many of our family and friends were able to be here to celebrate with us.
